Time Science
How long is a minute? We know! We chose a strategy, like how many times we can write our name in a minute, or how many jumping jacks we can do in a minute, and others. We practiced our strategy with sand timers, then used our strategy to judge how long a piece of music was - less than a minute, exactly a minute, or more than a minute. After practicing our strategy, our predictions were more accurate!

Next Thursday is Beach Day and the Limbo Contest in the gym at 1:45. Students may bring a beach towel, wear colorful clothes, hats, and sunglasses to celebrate! No swimwear, please.
No school on Good Friday.
We will continue to practice telling time in math. Please talk about time as you go through your day with your child and ask them to read the time on clocks as you do your daily activities. This helps out so much as they are learning this lifelong skill!

Our last day with the iPads...
Here we are, working away, enjoying the iPads...
Here we are, sad faces, refusing to give them up to another class...
Goodbye, iPads, we have loved learning with you dearly. Hope we meet again soon...
Soon Mrs. Hays will be posting our Toontastic animation links! Come back soon to see them!

We are still collecting up new items for the second grade auction basket for the Spring Carnival. Our theme is Baby Basket. Please send in any new items, big or small, to help fill up our basket for this worthwhile PTO fundraiser. We need all items in by Tuesday!
The new web address above, for Kidblog, is for our student blogs. We will be accessing them while we still have the ipads in our classroom. Students can reply to posts I send to the class and to each other. This can be accessed at home as well from the internet or any Apple device with the free Kidblog app. Students must login with their colornumber password. This week we each posted a popplet mind map we made in the popple app. Have your child log in to Kidblog so they can show you.
