        We have been working hard on subtraction with regrouping in math.  We will take the test next week.
Our All About books in Writing Workshop are coming along great!  Ask your child what they are teaching in their book.
Our snack cabinet is running low again.  If you can help out by sending in some simple and healthy snacks your children would love it!  Things like pretzels, crackers, cereal, and cheese crackers are great!
        Our library day will be changing to Monday.

No school for Thanksgiving Break

  Edit:  Wow!  Who expected this???  No school on Wednesday as well!  Have a great time off with your loved ones this extended weekend!  

   There will be no school Thursday and Friday due to Thanksgiving break.  Enjoy spending some time with your family.  Here is the spelling list for next week.

Hooray for box tops!

Our class won the second grade box tops competition!  We had an ice cream sundae party on Friday!  Keep sending them in though because we are not done yet.  There will be another collection date later this year!

Newsletter 11-16-12

       No school Thursday and Friday – Thanksgiving Break.

You should have received your child's report card.  You may keep the papers inside and just sign and return the envelope.  Included in the envelope is login information for www.pearsonsuccessnet.com.  Included in the website are math practice activities that correlate to what we are doing in class, if you would like some extra practice at home.

Monday we honored our Veterans at our Annual Veteran's Day program.  The students sang patriotic songs and were very respectful.  They did a great job!

Math website

If you click on the "math games" tab along the top of the blog, you can log on to the Pearson Success Net  website for extra math practice that correlates to what we are working on in class.  The username and login for your child is coming home in their report card envelope.

Newsletter 11-8-12

No school Friday!  It is a teacher work day due to being the end of the first trimester.   Report cards will come home next week.

We are finishing up adding two digit numbers in math next week.  We are moving on to subtracting two digit numbers after that.  Keep practicing those math facts!

Fall Party

     Thanks to all for helping make our fall party fun.  We had lots of good snacks, watched my favorite Halloween video, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and played Spooky Bingo.
