Illustrator Visit

A local wildlife artist and children's book illustrator visited us today.  His name is Bruce Langton and one of the books he has illustrated is H is for Hoosier.

We read this book yesterday in class so we were familiar with some of his artwork before he came.  We were so excited to meet him!  He told us about his family and his pets and how he became an artist.  He decided he wanted to be an artist when he was in the third grade!  He told us it was important to never give up on our dreams.  He also gave us a drawing lesson and taught us some tips we could use when we illustrate our books in writing workshop!  Here are some of our efforts.

Sorry some of these are oriented the wrong way.  Been having some issues with that that have been difficult to fix.
