Our caterpillars are entering the next stage of their life cycle! They have been in the larvae stage and they are now entering the pupa stage, where they molt for the last time a form a chrysalis (not a cocoon). We have been watching all week for them to spin a silk button and begin hanging in a “J” shape, as that is the precursor to the pupa stage. We have several chrysalises and are expecting several more over the weekend. We even got the opportunity to connect a microscope camera to our smartboard and look at a caterpillar and a chrysalis really close up! See our blog for a few photos!
Our snack cabinet is running low again. Please send in some healthy snacks like crackers, cereal, or pretzels if you can. Thanks!
