Reading nonfiction text

We are doing an author study.  We are studying nonfiction conventions.  Some examples would be: graphs, table of contents, diagrams and labels, glossary, caption, maps, etc.  We had a nonfiction convention scavenger hunt and looked for these things in Gail Gibbons' books.  We found bunches and learned lots about ways to teach readers more!
