We have been doing some science activities about time since we have been learning to tell time. This week we practiced a strategy to be able to tell how long a minute is. We listened to some music to test out our strategy to see if we were accurate. We had a great time and we did much better estimating after we practiced a strategy to help us out (and it was bunches of fun)! Ask us about it!
Please talk about telling time with your child as it comes up in everyday life. Encourage them to use a variety of different kinds of clocks and practice telling time with them. Talk about the time in different ways, for example, 8:15 is also 15 min. after 8, and quarter after 8. Daily authentic practice will help them out a lot as they are learning to tell time!
The school carnival is March 23. Please return the pink form specifying how you are able to help us out!
Your child will be bringing home their Writer's Notebook throughout the month on weekends to write their daily Slice of Life. Please make sure it comes back to school on Monday!
